Description: The role of green supplier evaluation and selection (GSES) in supply chain management is increasingly appreciated due to the intensification of competition, raising public consciousness, and environmental issues. To improve GSES, a large number of approaches have been proposed in the past decades. However, few attempts have been made to systematically review and classify the literature in this field. The objective of this study is to afford a comprehensive review of the studies which aim to develop models and methods in helping enterprises to assess and select the right green suppliers. To achieve this goal, a total of 193 journal articles extracted from the Scopus database over the period of 2009 to 2020 were chosen and reviewed. These publications were classified into ten categories based on their adopted GSES models and analyzed concerning the evaluation criteria, criteria weighting methods, and performance evaluation methods. Moreover, a bibliometric analysis was conducted according to the frequency of supplier selection methods, citation number, publication year, journal, country, and application area. This study supports practitioners, managers, and researchers in effectively recognizing and applying the GSES models to enhance organizational competitiveness and provides an insight into its state of the art.

Description: The objective of image denoising is to retain useful details while removing as much noise as possible to recover an original image from its noisy version. This paper proposes a novel normal inverse Gaussian (NIG) model-based method that uses a Bayesian estimator to carry out image denoising in the nonsubsampled contourlet transform (NSCT) domain. In the proposed method, the NIG model is first used to describe the distributions of the image transform coefficients of each subband in the NSCT domain. Then, the corresponding threshold function is derived from the model using Bayesian maximum a posteriori probability estimation theory. Finally, optimal linear interpolation thresholding algorithm (OLI-Shrink) is employed to guarantee a gentler thresholding effect. The results of comparative experiments conducted indicate that the denoising performance of our proposed method in terms of peak signal-to-noise ratio is superior to that of several state-of-the-art methods, including BLS-GSM, K-SVD, BivShrink, and BM3D. Further, the proposed method achieves structural similarity (SSIM) index values that are comparable to those of the block-matching 3D transformation (BM3D) method.

Description: After a faulted transmission line is removed, power flow on it will be transferred to other lines in the network. If those lines are heavily loaded beforehand, the transferred flow may cause the nonfault overload and the incorrect operation of far-ranging backup relays, which are considered as the key factors leading to cascading trips. In this paper, a novel algorithm for power flow transferring identification based on wide area measurement system (WAMS) is proposed, through which the possible incorrect tripping of backup relays will be blocked in time. A new concept of Transferred Flow Characteristic Ratio (TFCR) is presented and is applied to the identification criteria. Mathematical derivation of TFCR is carried out in detail by utilization of power system short circuit fault modeling. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm to prevent the malfunction of backup relays are demonstrated by a large number of simulations.

Description: A new intelligent model to simulate evacuation behavior in ships called neighborhood particle swarm optimization is proposed. This model determines the rules of behavior and velocity updating formulas to solve staff conflicts. The individuals in evacuation are taken as particles in PSO and update their behaviors by individual attributes, neighborhood attributes, and social attributes. Putting the degree of freedom movement of ships into environment factor and using the real Ro-Ro ship information and IMO test scenarios to simulate the evacuation process, the model in this paper can truly simulate the behavior of persons in emergency and provide a new idea to design excellent evacuation model.

Description: It is well known that coalmine gas concentration forecasting is very significant to ensure the safety of mining. Owing to the high-frequency, nonstationary fluctuations and chaotic properties of the gas concentration time series, a gas concentration forecasting model utilizing the original raw data often leads to an inability to provide satisfying forecast results. A hybrid forecasting model that integrates wavelet transform and extreme learning machine (ELM) termed as WELM (wavelet based ELM) for coalmine gas concentration is proposed. Firstly, the proposed model employs Mallat algorithm to decompose and reconstruct the gas concentration time series to isolate the low-frequency and high-frequency information. Then, ELM model is built for the prediction of each component. At last, these predicted values are superimposed to obtain the predicted values of the original sequence. This method makes an effective separation of the feature information of gas concentration time series and takes full advantage of multi-ELM prediction models with different parameters to achieve divide and rule. Comparative studies with existing prediction models indicate that the proposed model is very promising and can be implemented in one-step or multistep ahead prediction.

Description: The main goal of image fusion is to combine substantial information from different images of the same scene into a single image that is suitable for human and machine perception or for further image-processing tasks. In this study, a simple and efficient image fusion approach based on the application of the histogram of infrared images is proposed. A fusion scheme to select adaptively weighted coefficients for preserving salient infrared targets from the infrared image and for obtaining most spatial detailed information from the visible image is presented. Moving and static infrared targets in the fused image are labeled with different colors. This technique enhances perception of the image for the human visual system. In view of the modalities of infrared images, low resolution, and low signal-to-noise ratio, an anisotropic diffusion equation model is adopted to remove noise and to effectively preserve edge information before the fusion stage. By using the proposed method, relevant spatial information is preserved and infrared targets are clearly identified in the resulting fused images.

Description: The online chat group is a small-scale multiuser social networking platform, in which users participate in the discussions and send and receive information. Online chat group service providers are concerned about the number of active members because more active members means more advertising revenues. For the group owners and members, efficiency of information acquisition is the concern. So it is of great value to model these two indicators’ impacting factors. This paper deduces the mathematical models of the number of active members and efficiency of information acquisition and then conducts numerical experiment. The experimental results provide evidences about how to improve the number of active members and efficiency of information acquisition.

Description: The multipulse homoclinic orbits and chaotic dynamics of a reinforced composite plate with the carbon nanotubes (CNTs) under combined in-plane and transverse excitations are studied in the case of 1 : 1 internal resonance. The method of multiple scales is adopted to derive the averaged equations. From the averaged equations, the normal form theory is applied to reduce the equations to a simpler normal form associated with a double zero and a pair of pure imaginary eigenvalues. The energy-phase method proposed by Haller and Wiggins is utilized to examine the global bifurcations and chaotic dynamics of the CNT-reinforced composite plate. The analytical results demonstrate that the multipulse Shilnikov-type homoclinic orbits and chaotic motions exist in the system. Homoclinic trees are constructed to illustrate the repeated bifurcations of multipulse solutions. In order to verify the theoretical results, numerical simulations are given to show the multipulse Shilnikov-type chaotic motions in the CNT-reinforced composite plate. The results obtained here imply that the motion is chaotic in the sense of the Smale horseshoes for the CNT-reinforced composite plate.

Description: Based on the situation of physician trust in the patient (PTP), we explored the differences in perceived behaviors of physician trust in the patient (PBPTP). We used the PTP scale as a research tool, taking physicians of the hospitals in Anhui region as the research object to carry out the investigation of PTP, Python software was applied to explore the status of PTP, and the differences of PBPTP distribution rate with different demographic characteristic variables were compared by testing based on theory of planned behavior. We get six results as follows: (1) the overall PTP level was low, and nearly 50% of doctors doubt the integrity of patients. “Patients will not be driven by improper interests” becomes the most reluctant problem or the most distrustful option for doctors. (2) In terms of patients’ participation in disease management and regular follow-up visits, PTP rate in male was higher than that in female (Ps

Description: According to the application of range-free localization technology for wireless sensor networks (WSNs), an improved localization algorithm based on iterative centroid estimation is proposed in this paper. With this methodology, the centroid coordinate of the space enclosed by connected anchor nodes and the received signal strength indication (RSSI) between the unknown node and the centroid are calculated. Then, the centroid is used as a virtual anchor node. It is proven that there is at least one connected anchor node whose distance from the unknown node must be farther than the virtual anchor node. Hence, in order to reduce the space enclosed by connected anchor nodes and improve the location precision, the anchor node with the weakest RSSI is replaced by this virtual anchor node. By applying this procedure repeatedly, the localization algorithm can achieve a good accuracy. Observing from the simulation results, the proposed algorithm has strong robustness and can achieve an ideal performance of localization precision and coverage.
