Description: At present, the tunnel design specifications in China do not provide a clear and systematic intelligent evaluation system of tunnel frost damage in cold regions. Based on the research results of 122 seasonal frozen soil tunnels in high-latitude areas of China, four key influencing factors of geohydrology, temperature, surrounding rock, and engineering measures were determined, the intelligent fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model was established, the weights of all factors were considered, and the intelligent evaluation technology system of tunnel frost damage in cold areas had been put forward. Meanwhile, the rationality of the intelligent model was verified by a specific engineering case. The research suggests that the intelligent evaluation model of tunnel frost damage proposed in this paper can accurately describe the relationship of influencing factors of tunnel frost damage in cold areas, the weight of each influencing factor is calculated by using analytic hierarchy process, and the main risk sources of tunnel frost damage in cold areas are found out. The intelligent evaluation model is an efficient and practical method for Intelligent prediction of frost damage. By using the subordinate function method, the improvement from qualitative analysis to quantitative index calculation is realized. The blindness of engineering analogy construction is avoided, and the scientificity and accuracy of renovation measures for frost damage have been improved. At the same time, the research results provide a theoretical basis for the improvement of the intelligent evaluation system of tunnel frost damage in cold regions.

Description: Multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) is an important branch of operations research which composes multiple-criteria to make decision. TOPSIS is an effective method in handling MCDM problem, while there still exist some shortcomings about it. Upon facing the MCDM problem, various types of uncertainty are inevitable such as incompleteness, fuzziness, and imprecision result from the powerlessness of human beings subjective judgment. However, the TOPSIS method cannot adequately deal with these types of uncertainties. In this paper, a -TOPSIS method is proposed for MCDM problem based on a new effective and feasible representation of uncertain information, called numbers. The -TOPSIS method is an extension of the classical TOPSIS method. Within the proposed method, numbers theory denotes the decision matrix given by experts considering the interrelation of multicriteria. An application about human resources selection, which essentially is a multicriteria decision-making problem, is conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed -TOPSIS method.

Description: As one of the most promising research directions, cooperative location with high precision and low-cost IMU is becoming an emerging research topic in many positioning fields. Low-cost MEMS/DVL is a preferred solution for dead-reckoning in multi-USV cooperative network. However, large misalignment angles and large gyro drift coexist in low-cost MEMS that leads to the poor observability. Based on cubature Kalman filter (CKF) algorithm that has access to high accuracy and relative small computation, dual-model filtering scheme is proposed. It divides the whole process into two subsections that cut off the coupling relations and improve the observability of MEMS errors: it first estimates large misalignment angle and then estimates the gyro drift. Furthermore, to improve the convergence speed of large misalignment angle estimated in the first subsection, “time reversion” concept is introduced. It uses a short period time to forward and backward several times to improve convergence speed effectively. Finally, simulation analysis and experimental verification is conducted. Simulation and experimental results show that the algorithm can effectively improve the cooperative navigation performance.

Description: Supplier selection is a significant issue of multicriteria decision-making (MCDM), which has been heavily studied with classical fuzzy methodologies, but the reliability of the knowledge from domain experts is not efficiently taken into consideration. -number introduced by Zadeh has more power to describe the knowledge of human being with uncertain information considering both restraint and reliability. In this paper, a methodology for supplier selection using -numbers is proposed considering information transformation. It includes two parts: one solves the issue of how to convert -number to the classic fuzzy number according to the fuzzy expectation; the other solves the problem of how to get the optimal priority weight for supplier selection with genetic algorithm (GA), which is an efficient and flexible method for calculating the priority weight of the judgement matrix. Finally, an example for supplier selection is used to illustrate the effectiveness the proposed methodology.

Description: Logistics joint distribution network (LJDN) optimization involves vehicle routes scheduling and profit allocation for multiple distribution centers. This is essentially a combinational and cooperative game optimization problem seeking to serve a number of customers with a fleet of vehicles and allocate profit among multiple centers. LJDN routing optimization based on customer clustering units can alleviate the computational complexity and improve the calculation accuracy. In addition, the profit allocation mechanism can be realized based on cooperative game theory through a negotiation procedure by the Logistics Service Provider (LSP). This paper establishes a model to minimize the total cost of the multiple centers joint distribution network when each distribution center is assigned to serve a series of distribution units. An improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is presented to tackle the model formulation by assigning distribution centers (DCs) to distribution units. Improved PSO algorithm combines merits of PSO algorithm and genetic algorithm (GA) with global and local search capabilities. Finally, a Shapley value model based on cooperative game theory is proposed to obtain the optimal profit allocation strategy among distribution centers from nonempty coalitions. The computational results from a case study in Guiyang city, China, suggest the optimal sequential coalition of distribution centers can be achieved according to Strictly Monotonic Path (SMP).

Description: To cope with the facility location problem, a method based on simulated annealing and “ZKW” algorithm is proposed in this article. The method is applied to some real cases, which aims to deploy video content server at appropriate nodes in an undirected graph to satisfy the requirements of the consumption nodes with the least cost. Simulated annealing can easily find the optimum with less reliance on the initial solution. “ZKW” algorithm can find the shortest path and calculate the least cost from the server node to consumption node quickly. The results of three kinds of cases illustrate the efficiency of our method, which can obtain the optimum within 90 s. A comparison with Dijkstra and Floyd algorithms shows that, by using “ZKW” algorithm, the method can have large iteration with limited time. Therefore, the proposed method is able to solve this video content server location problem.
