Description:
Description:
A common feature of both well logging methods, induced polarization (IP) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), is the measuring of relaxation curves with a distribution of relaxation. times. On the base of pore space models it is possible to derive the pore radius distribution from the relaxation time distribution. Then, the pore radius distribution yields the porosity and additional structure parameters such as the pore radii of the free porosity and of the microporosity. All these additional informations about structure allow to calculate permeability from porosity. The geothermal exploration well Hamburg-Allermöhe 1 serves as an example for calculating permeability from a NMR-log. In this case comes a sp~cial interest from the fact of a strong cementation of the Rät sandstone aquifer.
