Description:
High accuracy positioning has become a fundamental part of modern applications such as surveying, precision farming and machine control. For more than 20 years, GNSS correction services have been used to improve position accuracies down to the centimeter level. In recent years, Precise Point Positioning (PPP) has evolved in different ways and is now a sophisticated technology that can be used in various real-time applications. PPP-RTK (Real-time kinematic) uses regional reference networks to estimate the main error effects on GNSS observations in the so-called state space representation (SSR). In cooperation with the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG), the Working Committee of the Surveying Authorities of the Laender of the Federal Republic of Germany (AdV) are now establishing a new positioning service for the German territory, based on the PPP-RTK technique. For continuous service provision, it will be implemented redundantly, at BKG and the Central Office SAPOS (ZSS). The future service can be used by public user groups and will also address the growing accuracy requirements of federal and civil services. Using the SSR technology, a nearly unlimited number of users can benefit from an official GNSS correction service. The future service will transmit corrections both via Ntrip and DAB+. In this presentation, the general setup and the differences between the two realizations will be explained. Additionally, the current status of the new service, first results and future plans will be shown.
