Description: The literature review previous to the realization of this research has allowed us to observe that in the field of management of quality is necessary empirical research to analyze the structure of relations among the critical factors of quality and results. In this context, we conducted an empirical study in 186 tourist accommodation businesses certified under the 'Q for Tourism Quality' in Spain, which analyzes the structure of relations among the critical factors of quality and quality results. A model based on the theory together with the hypotheses to be tested, and validated using the technique of structural equation models. The results show that companies that want to improve the quality results should be noted that the critical factors that most influence are the policy/quality planning along with leadership. The latter factor is directly and positively related to partnerships and resources, the policy/quality planning, employee management and learning.

Description: This paper presents the results of the empirical study conducted in 186 tourist accommodation businesses nationally certified under the Q for Tourist Quality”, presented in order to analyze the motivations that lead companies in the tourism sector implementing and certifying Quality Management Systems. Once a comprehensive theoretical review, the methodology consists of a descriptive analysis and factor analysis in order to determine the structure of these motivations in this sector. Finally, cluster firms and these groups are analyzed to establish their profile by cluster analysis. The results show that the most important motivations that drive hosting companies to implement a system of quality management are internal motivations, this study showing differences with the findings in other academic studies in industrial companies. The structure of motivation in this sector is made up of three groups: external market reasons, external demands reasons and internal reasons.

Description: The aim of this study was to show the current state of scientific research regarding wine tourism, by comparing the platforms of scientific information WoS and Scopus and applying quantitative methods. For this purpose, a bibliometric study of the publications indexed in WoS and Scopus was conducted, analyzing the correlation between increases, coverage, overlap, dispersion and concentration of documents. During the search process, a set of 238 articles and 122 different journals were obtained. Based on the results of the comparative study, we conclude that WoS and Scopus databases differ in scope, data volume and coverage policies with a high degree of unique sources and articles, resulting both of them complementary and not mutually exclusive. Scopus covers the area of wine tourism better, by including a greater number of journals, papers and signatures.

Description: In the mid-1980s, at the same time as the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) reforms resulted in a decrease in agricultural employment, the Single European Act transformed the reduction of regional differences into an objective of European regional policy. The LEADER Initiative and the PRODER Program were two of the instruments chosen by the European Commission to deal with the effects that these new challenges would have for the rural environment. This research studies the scope and limitations of these programs. For this, we analyzed their implementation, resorting to the case study of the region of La Vera, Extremadura (Spain). The results show that although the structure of these programs is consistent with the purpose of developing and diversifying rural economies, their application must overcome a number of risks, including an excessive concentration of investments in the tourism sector, which stands out from the rest. In addition to highlighting the limitations of tourism as an axis of development, this research detects some aspects that should be taken into account when implementing these programs.

Description: In order to shed light on the trends and performance of the contributions in the field of tourism innovation, a comparative bibliometric analysis of production in this area, indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases is carried out in this research. We opted for a document tracking strategy through a search of terms, in which 211 and 264 articles were identified in WoS and Scopus, respectively. Based on the analysis of the selected articles, it is concluded that it is an emerging and fragmented field of knowledge with more than two thirds of its production concentrated in the last five years. Other results indicate that there is a great concentration of articles within the subject areas of business, management and accounting (Scopus), and social science (WoS), highlighting Hjalager, A, M. as the most prolific researcher and tourism management as the journal that publishes the highest number of papers. Spain, the United Kingdom, and Denmark hold the top positions in the ranking of countries by number of articles and authors affiliated with one of their centers. In the area of tourism innovation, Scopus has better coverage due to collecting a greater number of articles and receiving a greater number of citations.
