Description:
Article Topological insulators like bismuth selenide exhibit Dirac surface states in which the electron spin is locked with the crystal momentum. Using spin- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, the authors observe a new kind of coupling between the spin and orbital texture of the Dirac cones.
