Description: The file includes both field measured and satellite derived high resolution LAI data obtained over the Honghe farm and Hailun site in northeastern China. The Honghe farm (centered at 47°39′N, 133°31′E) is located in the east of the Heilongjiang province, northeast China. Five plots in 400 m × 600 m were selected in the Honghe farm in 2012 and 2013. Within each plot, about 50 - 60 elementary sampling units (ESUs) about 20 m ×20 m in size were selected in different weeks with a moving sampling strategy to avoid the sampling disturbance. Field LAI measurements were performed weekly from June 11 to September 17, 2012, and from June 22 to August 27, 2013. All ESU measurements made with LAI-2200 within a plot were averaged to represent the plot LAI. The Hailun site (47°24′- 47°26′N, 126°47′- 126°51′E) is located in the western part of the Heilongjiang province. The main crop types are maize, soybean, and sorghum. Five crop plots in 100 m × 500 m were chosen for continuous LAI measurements. The plots cover an areas of about 30 km2 and an elevation of approximately 200-240 m above sea level with quite homogeneous surroundings. Three representative ESUs of approximately 20 m × 20 m were selected in each plot. Field LAI measurements were continuously carried out with LAI-2200 weekly at each plot from June 20 to September 22, 2016. The high-resolution LAI data were estimated with a look-up table (LUT) method from the HJ-1, Landsat 7 ETM+, and Sentinel-2A MSI reflectance data. The high resolution LAI data are consistent with the field measured LAI characterized by a slope close to the 1:1 line. The statistical results show R2 of 0.81 and 0.86, and RMSE of 0.62 and 0.70 for paddy rice and broadleaf crops, respectively. The scale factor is 0.01.

Description: Here we present changes in abundances and δ13C and δ18O composition of five size fractions of bulk sediments from ODP Site 1209 in Shatsky Rise, north-central Pacific, deposited BETWEEN 58-50 Ma. The dataset includes four tables. The bulk sediments were rinsed and segregated into five size fractions: 〈25 μm, 25-63 μm, 63-125 μm, 125-250 μm and 〉250 μm. The difference in mass of sediments before and after size-fraction separation is reported in the first sheet. The second sheet documents temporal changes in relative weights of the various size fractions: namely fine fraction (FF), intermediate fraction (IF), coarse fraction (CF) and the three sub-fractions of CF. The δ13C and δ18O composition of bulk sediments and size fractions are reported in the third and fourth sheets, respectively.

Description: Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba) is Earth’smost abundant wild animal, and its enormous biomass is vital to the Southern Ocean ecosystem. Here, we report a 48.01-Gb chromosome-level Antarctic krill genome, whose large genome size appears to have resulted from inter-genic transposable element expansions. Our assembly reveals the molecular architecture of the Antarctic krill circadian clock and uncovers expanded gene families associated with molting and energy metabolism, providing insights into adaptations to the cold and highly seasonal Antarctic environment. Population-level genome re-sequencing from four geographical sites around the Antarctic continent reveals no clear population structure but highlights natural selection associated with environmental variables. An apparent drastic reduction in krill population size 10 mya and a subsequent rebound 100 thousand years ago coincides with climate change events. Our findings uncover the genomic basis of Antarctic krill adaptations to the Southern Ocean and provide valuable resources for future Antarctic research.

Notes: A three dimensional molecular dynamics model is employed to simulate AFM-basedlithography process. To investigate effects of tip geometry, three kinds of tip models are proposed:a cone-shape tip with a hemisphere at the end, a round-edged three sided pyramid tip with ahemisphere at the end and a sharp-edged three sided pyramid tip. These models simulate scratchingbehaviors of AFM tip at different scratching depths. Results showed that materials removalbehavior and scratching forces were significantly affected by tip geometry, depending on thescratching depth and scratching directions. The specific energy using a sharp-edged three sidedpyramid tip displayed a different behavior comparing to that using a round-edged three sidedpyramid. However, scratching orientations exhibited no effects on the specific energy

Notes: The equations correlated the normal load and the tip penetration depth were derivedthrough the theoretical analysis of the penetration process of the diamond tip. Verified byexperiments, the equations can reflect the penetration process of the scratching machining systemand provide theoretical basis for the optimization of depth control algorithm. The control ofscratching depth realized in AFM deflection mode can effectively restrain the system drift duringscratching process
