Forming of HCN in an Electrical SparkThe plasmachemical conversion of a CH4/N2 mixture to HCN and C2H2 was studied in an intermitted electric are (spark arc). The highest conversion factor of methane and the lowest value for energy utilization obtained was 80% and 62 k Wh/kg HCN, respectively. These values agree fairly with analogous values of the plasma jet process. The conversion depends on the amount of energy feeded into the sparc are, the pressure of neutral gas, the CH4/N2 ratio of the mixture, and whether the system was converted under dynamic or static conditions. The energetic parameters - the capacity of the loading condenser, the loading voltage and the number of sparcs per gasprobe - proved to be aquivalent in respect of the conversion factor.

Die plasmachemische Umsetzung von Methan/Stickstoff-Gemischen zu Blausäure und Acetylen wird unter den Bedingungen eines intermittierenden elektrischen Bogens, eines Funkenbogens (FB), untersucht. Mit einem maximalen Gesamtumwandlungsgrad von 80% (davon αHCN = 50% und αC2H2 = 30%) und einem minimalen spezifischen Energieaufwand Esp von 62kWh/pro kg HCN konnten Werte erhalten werden, die weitgehend denen des Plasmastrahl-Prozesses entsprechen. Die Umsetzung ist abhängig von der Höhe der dem FB zugeführten Energie, dem Neutralgasdruck, dem Verhältnis der Partialdrücke von Methan und Stickstoff sowie davon, ob das Ausgangssystem dem FB unter dynamischen oder statischen Bedingungen ausgesetzt wird. Die für die FB-Energie bestimmenden Parameter die Kapazität des Ladekondensators, die Ladespannung und die Zahl der Funken pro Gasprobe - erwiesen sich hinsichtlich ihres Einflusses auf den Stoffwandlungsgrad als äquivalent.
