Contributions to the Chemistry of Silicon and Germanium. XXXI. Photochemical Preparation of i-Propoxysilanes from Tri-, n-Tetra-, i-Tetra-, and n-Pentasilane, Acid Hydrolysis to BissilanylethersThe photolysis Si3H8, n-Si4H10, i-Si4H10, and n-Si5H12 in the presence of acetone in dimethylbutane as solvent leads to several new mono- and poly-i-propoxysilanes which have been separated by gas chromatography. By acid hydrolysis of the mono-i-propoxysilanes the corresponding bissilanylethers are formed. All new compounds have been characterized by mass, 1H-NMR, IR and Raman spectroscopy. Mechanistical aspects have been studied by using different silanes and ketones as starting materials.
Notes:
