Notes:
The hygrophotographic method which the author has elucidated with the help of special hygrosensitive plates and films described by him, permits a study of the permeability of different kinds of plastic materials, leather, and other analogous substances in water as well as in vapor. With this aim in view, it gives the time necessary to produce the decoloration of the hygrosensitive layer of the hygrophotographic plates kept in contact with these products, by the action of vapor diffused through the products examined. The different phases of the decoloration are fixed afterwards by direct photography.
