Da das fragliche Gebiet zurzeit noch als vollkommenes Neuland anzusehen ist und diese Arbeit wohl mit zu den ersten SpezialUntersuchungen gehört, lie\ sich nicht in allen FÄllen eine erschöpfende ErklÄrung der einzelnen dielektrischen Erscheinungen erreichen. Immerhin hat sich gezeigt, da\ einige grundlegende Erkenntnisse den noch am Anfang der Entwicklung stehenden Kondensatorbau bereits ma\gebend beeinflu\t haben. - Besonderer Wert wurde darauf gelegt, das Verhalten der Isolation unter der dauernden Einwirkung des elektrischen Feldes kennenzulernen, da man bis heute noch nicht in der Lage ist, auf Grund einer kurzzeitigen Prüfung mit verhÄltnismÄ\ig hoher Spannungsbeanspruchung oder auch einer anderen Prüfmethode die betriebsmÄ\ige Eignung eines Kondensators, d. h. seine BewÄhrung im Dauerbetriebe mit Sicherheit zu beurteilen. Der unvoreingenommene Beobachter wird sich der Einsicht nicht verschlie\en können, da\ man hier noch ganz am Anfang des theoretischen Erkennens steht und es ist wohl nicht zu viel behauptet, da\ ebenso wie hier, so auch auf den dielektrisch verwandten Gebieten, noch hingebungsvollste Arbeit geleistet werden mu\, um die Isolierstofftechnik zur Lösung der gro\en Aufgaben zu befÄhigen, die ihrer im Rahmen der stetig fortschreitenden technischen Entwicklung noch harren.

    Notes: Abstract With applications of numerical methods it is tried to make statements about important influences on the charge and discharge of a metal hydrogen storage, which is suitable for an application in a hydrogen operated motor vehicle. Therefore there were investigated different geometries of pipe as well as the influence of variation of different physical and chemical properties on the important materials of the system.

    Notes: Abstract A laser system capable of generating picosecond pulses of 2 ps duration and peak powers of up to 50 MW, tunable throughout the emission spectrum of the lasing medium is described. The system consists of a cw dye laser which is tuned and is actively mode-locked by means of a novel interferometer. Single-pulse amplification is achieved via a two-stage N2-laser-pumped amplifier arrangement. One of the most attractive features of the system here described is its inherent versatile broad tunability, which should allow, with different lasing media and pump sources, ps pulse generation from 400 to 700 nm using the same interferometer device.

    Notes: Abstract We describe the generation of excimer-laser pulses of 〈10 ps pulse width and up to 40 mJ pulse energy at 248.5 nm and their use in the measurement of ps gain dynamics in a KrF amplifier. Small-signal gain of 〉2×104, saturation energy density of 2.0 mJ/cm2, and gain recovery time of 4 ns were measured. In contrast to XeCl* no short-gain rcovery time was found in KrF* and the stored inversion could be fully depleted bya single ps pulse.

    Notes: Abstract An X-ray preionized, discharge-pumped XeCl laser with a variable beam cross-section of up to 6×6 cm2 is described. It uses flat electrodes and the beam width is determined by X-ray collimation. Its operation characteristics concerning reduced electric field strength (E/p) and X-ray dose are discussed in detail. The inductance of the discharge loop is minimized using a water capacitor arrangement. A very high specific optical power (90 MW/l) is achieved in an active volume of 1.2 l. The pulse energy exceeds 5 J in a 45 ns pulse (FWHM).
