The elements of the 1b-group of the periodic system (M) react with Li and the elements Si, Ge and Sn(X) forming compounds of the formula LiM2X and/or Li2MX. The deeply coloured phases crystallize in a fcc lattice; lattice constants see “Inhaltsübersicht”.The crystal structure of the phases LiCu2Si and LiCu2Ge is that of a HEUSLER-type lattice (L2, A), the Li2 CuSn-structure is an alternative Li3Bi-type structure (L21C).The phase boundaries within the limits LiM2X and Li2MX were investigated. The optical absorption maxima of the compounds were determined. The electrical resistance of the phases increases with temperature. The Cu compounds are slightly diamagnetic.

Aus Remissionsspektren wurden die Absorptionsmaxima ermittelt. Der elektronische Widerstand der Stoffe steigt mit Temperaturerhöhung an. Die Verbindungen des Kupfers sind schwach diamagnetisch.
