    Notes: Summary The formation and precipitation of cobaltferrocyanide has been studied by potentiometric titrations between cobalt nitrate and potassium ferrocyanide using ferricyanide-ferrocyanide electrode both by the direct and the inverse methods. The end point obtained from the maximum value of ΔE/ΔC corresponds to the formation of a compound having the composition 4Co2Fe(CN)2 · 3K4Fe(CN)6 with either of the substance used as the reagent. The titration curves have a regular shape, a sharp break in potential occurs at the end point and the results are accurate and reproducible. The effects of electrolytes and alcohol in varying concentrations on the end point as well as on the nature of the curves has been studied. In presence of 30% alcohol, the observed titre values closely approach the calculated points of equivalence required for the formation of the above compound.

    Notes: Summary The reaction between bismuth nitrate and ferrocyanides of alkali metals such as sodium, potassium, lithium and ammonium, has been studied potentiometrically using platinum as an indicator electrode in conjunction with a saturated calomel electrode through KNO3 bridge. The equivalence point obtained from the maximum value of dE/dV corresponds to the formation and complete precipitation of a compound having molecular formula BiMFe(CN)6, where M represents an alkali metal. The potentiometric curves are symmetrical on both sides of the end point and the results obtained are very accurate and reproducible. The method of potentiometric titrations, though simple, offers a rapid and accurate means for the determination of bismuth solutions at fairly low concentrations. The effect of addition of ethanol and electrolytes on the course of the reaction has been studied.

    Description / Table of Contents: The composition of the precipitate occuring on the titrimetric estimation of Mn(II)-ions by means of K4[Fe(CN)6] has been studied by potentiometric measurements.The deviation from the ideal formula 4 Mn2[Fe(CN)6] · 3 K4[Fe(CN)6] and the favorable influence of alcohol addition are discussed.
    Notes: Die potentiometrische Titration von MnCl2 mit K4[Fe(CN)6] zeigt, daß die Zusammensetzung des gebildeten Niederschlages unabhängig davon, welche der beiden Lösungen vorgelegt wird, der Formel 4 Mn2[Fe(CN)6] · 3 K4[Fe(CN)6] entspricht.Die geringen Abweichungen zwischen den hierfür berechneten und den beobachteten Endpunkten in rein wäßrigem Medium sowie der günstige Einfluß von Alkoholzusätzen (bis zu 30%) werden diskutiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: Durch potentiometrische Verfolgung der Umsetzung von Natriumarsenit mit HgCl2 bei verschiedenen Mischungsverhältnissen und verschiedenem pH konnte das Auftreten mehrerer definierter Quecksilberarsenite nachgewiesen werden (Formeln siehe Summary).
    Notes: The formation and composition of Mercury arsenites, obtained by the interaction of Hg(ic) salt and NaAsO2 at specific pH levelsx 9.85, 11.25 and 12.28, has been studied from E.M.F. measurements involving potentiometric titrations between the reactants using platinum as an indicator electrode in conjunction with a saturated calomel electrode. Three definite arsenite compounds are formed having the molecular formulae HgO · As2O3; 2 HgO · As2O3; 3 HgO · As2O3 when HgCl2 or Hg(NO3)2 reacts with solutions of NaAsO2 (2 NaOH + As2O3) pH 9.85; 2 NaOH + 2 NaAsO2 (pH = 11.25) and 4 NaOH + 2 NaAsO2 (pH = 12.28) respectively. The proportion of HgO increases with the concentration of alkali used in the preparation of sodium arsenite. The formation of mercuric arsenite is thus a function of H+ ion concentration. The potentiometric titration curves are regular in form; a sharp break in potential occurs at the end point, with either of the reactants used as the titre; and the results are accurate and reproducible. The effect of alcohol and electrolytes on the end point as well as on the nature of curves has been studied.

    Description / Table of Contents: Es wurde die Zusammensetzung von Lanthanmolybdat-Niederschlägen untersucht, die sich aus Lanthannitrat und Lösungen verschieden kondensierter Na-Molybdate bilden. Die Reaktionen wurden bei verschiedenem pH, in rein wäßrigem oder wäßrig-alkoholischem Medium durch amperometrische und konduktometrische Titration verfolgt. Im pH-Bereich von 5,0-6,0 bildet sich das Orthomolybdat La2O3 · 3 MoO3, bei pH = 3,5-4,5 das Paramolybdat La2O3 · 7 MoO3.
    Notes: The formation and precipitation of lanthanum molybdates obtained by the interaction of lanthanum nitrate and different alkali molybdates (normal, di, para and meta) have been studied by means of amperometric and conductometric titrations between the reactants at different pH ranges, in aqueous and aqueous-alcoholic media, with each of the reagents alternately used as the titrant. Electrometric experiments provide definite evidence for the formation of normal lanthanum molybdate La2O3 · 3 MoO3 at pH range 5.0-6.0 and para-molybdate La2O3 · 7 MoO3 at pH range 3.5-4.5. The precipitation of normal molybdate is almost quantitative.

    Notes: Die Titration von K3[Fe(CN)6]-Lösung mit Hg2(NO3)2-Lösung und die inverse Titration wurden konduktometrisch untersucht. Im ersten Falle bildet sich K(Hg2)[Fe(CN)6], im zweiten Falle zunächst (Hg2)3[Fe(CN)6]2 und erst dann die erstgenannte Verbindung. Infolge der Adsorptionsfähigkeit der Niederschläge erhält man in rein wäßrigem Medium keine brauchbaren Ergebnisse. In Gegenwart von Alkohol (20 Vol.-%) entsprechen dagegen die beobachteten Knickpunkte der Titrationskurve recht genau den theoretischen Werten.

Der aus dem Maximum von ΔE/Δc bestimmte Äquivalenzpunkt entspricht in Gegenwart von überschüssigem Hg(NO3)2 der Bildung der Verbindung Hg2[Fe(CN)6] · Hg(NO3)2. Die Titrationskurven zeigen einen regelmäßigen Verlauf; am Äquivalenzpunkt tritt ein scharfer Potentialabfall auf. Die Ergebnisse sind reproduzierbar und genau. Der Einfluß von (NH4)2SO4 und von Alkohol verschiedener Konzentration auf die Lage des Äquivalenzpunktes wurde untersucht.
