Zusammenfassung Es wurde der Einfluß der Kobalt- und Mangansalze der α-, β- und γ-Pyridincarbonsäuren sowie des Kobalt(III)-acetylacetonats auf die Oxydation von Isopropylbenzol in flüssiger Phase kinetisch untersucht. Zwecks Feststellung des Mechanismus des Prozesses während der Induktionsperiode wurden eine Reihe von Experimenten in der Anwesenheit der aktivsten Katalysatoren durchgeführt. Dabei wurde festgestellt, daß alle diese Katalysatoren am Initiieren des Radikalkettenprozesses teilnehmen. Die Ergebnisse sind im Einklang mit der Hypothese über die Bildung von Zwischenkomplexen mit Sauerstoff.

Abstract The liquid phase oxidation of cumene in the presence of cobalt and manganese salts of α-, β- and γ-pyridinecarboxylic acids as well as of cobalt acetylacetonate has been kinetically studied. In view of determining the reaction mechanism during the initial period, a number of experiments were carried out in the presence of the most active catalysts. It was proved that all these catalysts take part in the initial stage of the radical chain process. The results are in accordance with the hypothesis for the formation of the intermediate complex with molecular oxygen.
