Notes:
Free-radical polymerisation of multimethacrylate-poly(2-methacryloyloxyethyl methacrylate) - in dilute dioxan solutions was examined. The effects of the multimethacrylate molecular weight and the multimonomer concentration on the polymerisation rate and molecular weight distribution and molecular weights of the polymerisation products were determined. The extent of conversion of double bonds in multimethacrylate was determined by FTIR spectrometry, while the molecular weight distributions were determined by gel permeation chromatography. The effect of the parameters under investigation on the template mechanism of the multimethacrylate polymerisation is discussed.
