Conclusion 1. Short mandrils with shanks for drawing thick-walled pipes do not crack and are more durable than hollow mandrils. 2. Surface quenching after induction heating eliminates breaking along the threads. 3. Surface quenching after induction heating ensures layers 3–4 mm thick with a hardness of HRC 58-64.
