Conclusions 1. In preparing particularly thin-walled tube blanks for bellows with low stiffness made of brass LANKMts, it is recommended that they are given as intermediate softening heat treatment, i.e., water quenching from 730°C, which makes it possible to reduce grain size and to stabilize material microstructure. In this way tube material ductility is sufficient for carrying out deformation treatment during preparation of tube blanks. 2. The required degree of deformation in preparing tube blanks, providing high productivity and the optimum combination of mechanical properties and material microstructure is 40–50%. 3. The recommended softening heat-treatment schedule before bellows forming, providing high production properties during the preparation of bellows from tube blanks and the required operating properties for finished bellows, is water quenching from 760°C.
