Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Contents Based on Erdélyi's method, theorems with regard to the asymptotic expansion of finite and semi-infinite Fourier integrals are proposed, including sine and cosine transforms. It is shown that the local behavior, under some “higher-order conditions”, off(x) at interval ends suffices to determine the dominant term of its Fourier transform $$\hat f(p)$$ as |p|→∞. The functionf(x) discussed here, or its derivativef′(x), exhibits integrable algebraic singularity at one interval end or at both ends. Certain application convenience of the proposed theorems is mentioned.
