N-Halogen Vanadium Nitride Chlorides Cl3V≡N — X with X = Br, ICl3V≡NI can be obtained by the reaction of vanadium tetrachloride with iodine azide in CCl4 solution. With liquid bromine the corresponding Cl3V≡NBr is formed. According to the IR spectra both nitride halides exhibit vanadium nitrogen triple bonds with a linear V≡N — X axis.
Notes:
Vanadiumtetrachlorid bildet mit Iodazid in CCl4-Lösung Cl3V≡NI, das mit flüssigem Brom in Cl3V≡NBr überführt werden kann. Nach den IR-Spektren liegen in beiden Nitridhalogeniden Vanadium-Stickstoff-Dreifachbindungen mit gestreckter V≡N — X-Achse vor.
