Zusammenfassung Es wird ein rechnerunterstütztes System zur Wetterbeobachtung und Hagelabwehr in Lisca (Slowenien, Jugoslawien) vorgestellt. Das beschriebene System ist ein operationelles mit einer auf Hagelraketen beruhenden Abwehr. Das System besteht aus einem C-Band-Radar, Rechnern, einem Netz von Raketenstartplätzen und einem Kommunikationssystem zwischen dem Radarcomputerzentrum und den Startplätzen, dem Wettervorhersagedienst und der Flugsicherung. Die Betonung liegt auf den Systemfunktionen und den Algorithmen zur automatischen Wetterbeobachtung, zur Erkennung von Hagelwolken, zur Feststellung der Wolkenbewegung und zur Berechnung der Raketenstarts. Die Software des Systems wird genau erläutert, während die technischen Werte des Radars und der Rechner zum besseren Verständnis des Gesamtsystems erwähnt werden. Die Abschätzung der Wirksamkeit des Systems bei der Verringerung von Hagelschäden ist nicht Gegenstand des Artikels und wird daher nur kurz erwähnt.

Summary A computer supported system for Weather Observation and Hail Suppression at Lisca (Slovenia, Yugoslavia) is presented. The described system is of an operational type, where the hail prevention is based on launching anti-hail rockets. The system consists of a C-band meteorological radar, computers, a grid of rocket launchers and a communication subsystem between the radar computer center and the launchers, the weather forecast service and the air traffic control. The main emphasis is given to system functions and algorithms for computer weather monitoring, severe cloud detection, cloud movement recognition and rocket launching computation. The software part of the system is discussed in detail, while technical data of the radar and the computer hardware equipment are included for better understanding of the system as a whole. The efficiency estimation of the hail damage reductions is not the topic of the presented article, it is only briefly mentioned.
