Crystal and Molecular Structure of Pentacarbonyl-[cyclohexylamino-(1-methoxyvinyl)carbene]-chromium(0)The crystal and molecular structure of pentacarbonyl-[cyclohexylamino-(1-methoxyvinyl)-carbene]-chromium(0), [C15H17NO6Cr] (1), has been determined by three-dimensional X-ray diffraction analysis. The compound crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, a = 9.43 ± 0.01, b = 10.11 ± 0.01, c = 18.00 ± 0.01 Å, space group Pnma, with four molecules per unit cell. Refinement of the structure in a partially anisotropic model led to an agreement factor of R = 0.079. The metal atom is surrounded by five carbonyl groups and the carbene ligand in an approximately octahedral manner. The complex is the first example of a metal organic carbene derivative with exact mirror symmetry (point group Cs). The chromium to carbene distance is 2.15 ± 0.01 Å.
Notes:
