Description: A revision of the species of Phaeochroops Cand\xc3\xa8ze is given. The species recognized before this study are redescribed and seven new species are defined, viz., P. colopacilis (Vietnam), freenae (Malaya), seres (Vietnam), ninbin (Vietnam), lakhonicus (Thailand), longisetosus (India) and vulturius (Sumatra). For nine species lectotypes are designated, viz., P. gigas Arrow, punctulatus Arrow, indicus Arrow, opacicollis Arrow, rattus Arrow, batuensis Arrow, mentaweiensis Arrow, niasianus Arrow, vulpecula Arrow. Five forms are considered synonyms, viz., P. niasianus Arrow, batuensis Arrow and mentaweiensis Arrow are synonyms of rattus Arrow (P. mentaweiensis already synonymized by Arrow, 1942) ; recticollis Pic is a synonym of silphoides Fairmaire ; punctulatus Arrow is a synonym of gilleti Benderitter (synonymy presumed by Arrow, 1942). Plates of four new species are given, as well as figures of male genitalia, sculpture of dorsal surfaces, and setosity for nearly all species. A key to the species, a checklist, and notes on bionomics and distribution are given.

Description: In 1893, Gestro founded the genus Ceroplophana, only including the simultaneously described species C. modiglianii Gestro. He considered the genus \xe2\x80\x94 based on the only known specimen \xe2\x80\x94 closely related to Peperonota Westwood, Didrepanephorus Wood-Mason, and Dicaulocephalus Gestro.\nFor rutelines, the males in these genera have strikingly developed secondary sexual characters. Gestro\'s species was the first representative from an insular locality of this South-East Asian group (Si Ramb\xc3\xa9, Batakland, North Sumatra; this locality is mentioned on the map in the report of the explorer who collected the material, Modigliani, 1891).\nRecently I could study seven \xe2\x99\x82 of modiglianii from West Malaysia. They show striking differences from Gestro\'s description. Gestro\'s type specimen could not be traced in the Museo Civico di Storia Naturale at Genova (E.\nTortonese, in litt.). Fortunately, Dr. Erber provided me with six \xe2\x99\x82 and the Berlin Museum with one \xe2\x99\x82 all from North Sumatra and collected partly in the same area as Gestro\'s specimen. Consequently a direct comparison became possible.\nThe differences between the Sumatran and Malaysian specimens described and figured below appear to be constant. Both series include insects of varying size and correspondingly developed head armatures. The identical parameres and the general appearance suggest a close relationship, so only a subspecific rank seems justified for the West Malaysian form, which I name Ceroplophana modiglianii Gestro subsp. malaysiana (pl. 1).\nDue to the indicated differences the to be completed in several respects: Gestro:

Description: A revision is presented of the species in the genus Parastasia. All known species are described, 11 new species are established, the parameres of most species are figured, the taxonomic levels of several taxa are changed, and 21 new synonymies are proposed. For many taxa lectotypes are designated and many specimens bearing incorrect or dubious type labels are degraded to their true status. Some aspects of distribution and dispersal are shortly discussed. A tentative key and a check list are added.

Description: A revision of the Indo-Australian species and notes on the African species of Phaeochrous are given. Nine new species and three new subspecies are described, viz., Phaeochrous australicus (Australia), compactus (Sri Lanka), elevatus (South India, Sri Lanka), enigmaticus (Java, Bangla Desh, China), lobatus (Philippines), madrassicus (South India), pletus (Timor), portuum (Papua New Guinea), pseudintermedius (Vietnam, South China), P. dissimilis subsp. vietnamicola (Vietnam, South China), emarginatus subsp. buruensis (Moluccas), intermedius subsp. occidentalis (North India, Bhutan).\nA neotype for Phaeochrous emarginatus Castelnau is designated. Two species hitherto considered synonyms of P. emarginatus are recognized as species and subspecies respectively, viz., P. intermedius Pic and P. emarginatus subsp. davidis Fairmaire. Eight species are considered synonyms of P. emarginatus, viz., sumatrensis (Westwood) (lectotype\nhere designated), hirtipes (Macleay) (lectotype here designated), alternatus Fairmaire, asiaticus Lewis (lectotype here designated), pallidus Arrow, celebensis Pic, perroudi Pic, gracilis Petrovitz - the last five are new synonymies. Three species, viz., P. suturalis Lansberge, davidis Fairmaire and benderitteri Pic, are considered subspecies of emarginatus. The status of P. dubius (Westwood), indicus (Westwood), ruficollis Fairmaire, rugosicollis Benderitter, rufus Pic and tonkineus Pic remains doubtful. Phaeochrous nanus Arrow is excluded from Phaeochrous.\nFigures of male genitalia of all species and subspecies, a key and some notes on bionomics, are given. Phaeochrous laeviceps Fairmaire and tenuepunctatus Fairmaire are removed from the list of African species, being no Phaeochrous, and the synonymization of P. insularis Linell with laeviceps is deleted.

Description: A taxonomic revision of the Hybosorine genera Microphaeochroops Pic, Microphaeolodes Kuijten, Mimocoelodes Pic, Pantolasius Lansberge and Phaeochridius Lansberge is given. Microphaeochroops nigrosetosus, Microphaeochroops varius, Microphaeolodes mulumontis and Pantolasius bandaharae are proposed as new species, and Microphaeolodes as a new genus. Lectotypes are designated for Microphaeochroops peninsularis Arrow, Phaeochridius derasus (Harold) and Phaeochridius haroldi Fairmaire. Phaeochridius haroldi Fairmaire is synonymized with Phaeochridius derasus (Harold); Phaeochridius benderitteri Pic and Phaeochridius cinereicollis Arrow are synonymized with Phaeochridius uniformis Arrow.

Description: A taxonomic revision of the scarabaeoid genus Hybosorus is given, including descriptions, nomenclatorial notes, figures of genital apparatus and other relevant parts, a key, and notes on distribution and bionomics. Lectotypes are designated for Hybosorus carolinus LeConte, H. crassus Klug, H. nitidus Lansberge, H. pinguis Westwood, H. roei Westwood, and Hybosoroides alluaudi Benderitter. Hybosorus arator (Illiger), H. carolinus LeConte, H. nitidus Lansberge (nov. syn.), H. illigeri var. nossibianus Fairmaire, H. pinguis Westwood, H. roei Westwood, H. arator subsp. arator (Illiger) sensu Endr\xc3\xb6di, 1957 (nov. syn.) and H. arator subsp. palearcticus Endr\xc3\xb6di (nov. syn.) are considered synonyms of H. illigeri Reiche. Problems concerning the type-species and some dubious names are discussed. Arguments are given for Hybosorus oblongus Dahlbom, H. pinguis Westwood, H. roei Westwood and H. carolinus LeConte being nomina oblita. Hybosorus laportei Westwood is considered a valid species and H. thoracicus Westwood a synonym of H. laportei (nov. syn.). Both were currently considered synonyms of H. illigeri Reiche. A new genus, Seleucosorus, is erected for Hybosorus punctatissimus Reiche. Hybosoroides alluaudi Benderitter, due to its close similarity to Hybosorus, is included in this revision. Hybosorus laeviceps Fairmaire is considered a synonym of H. baliensis Brancsik. Removed from Hybosorus are H. curtulus Fairmaire, being a Melolonthine, and H incultus P\xc3\xa9ringuey, being an Orphnine.

Description: Rutelarcha, Lutera and Cyphelytra are restated as genera, in the subtribus Rutelina; Arrow (1917) considered them synonyms of Parastasia, in the Parastasiina. Machatschke\'s (1972) new name Parastasia pauliana for Parastasia nigromaculata (Ohaus) (= Lutera) therefore is superfluous, and merged into synonymy. Lectotypes are designated for Cyphelytra ochracea and Rutelarcha quadrimaculata. The genera and species are diagnosed in a table, keys and descriptions, and some diagnostic characters are figured.
