Notes:
Summary 1. The outer-covery of the considered species Gregarina polymorpha as well as of G. cuneata consists of 5 unite-membranes and a very electron-dense layer of protoplasm which separates ecto- and endoplasm called ecto-endoplasmboundary. 2. The surface of all gregarines under consideration is differentiated into longitudinally oriented epicyte folds distributed quite uniformly around the gregarines circumference. A single part of these longitudinal rows of G. polymorpha is distributed in furrows. The epicyte folds are anastomosing. 3. Fibrils are connected to the most inner unite-membran in the top of the epicyte folds. The number of fibrils differs: G. polymorpha shows 5 until 10, G. cuneata 4 to 7 fibrils. The interpretation of these fibrils as myonemes allows us to explain all kinds of movements known of these two species. 4. The junction between the anterior and the posterior gamont in syzygy concerning the species under consideration is principally different. Whereas the epicyte folds of G. polymorpha only touch each other, the epicyte folds of G. cuneata are tigthly indented. The tops of the pellicle folds of G. polymorpha are additionally connected by plasm-threads. 5. In comparision with the plasm of the deutomerite the protoplasm of the protomerite shows a smaller number of vacuoles but contains numerous, very electron-dense granula, which also could be seen in the deutomerite of G. cuneata. Both of the species show a number of vacuoles increasing towards the central part of the cell. 6. A distinct boundary divides proto- and deutomerite. There is a principal difference in fastening this separation line to the ecto-endoplasm-boundary when both species are compared. 7. The nucleus of G. cuneata has a spheric form, whereas the nucleus of G. polymorpha is shaped irregulary. 8. It was possible to reconstruct excretion through shorttime-formed micropores at the bottom of two epicyte folds between them. The exchange of matter through several pores in protodeutomerite boundary will be discussed.
