Abstract In this paper, the effects of stress and strain on the kinetics and plasticity during martensitic transformation are studied. The mathematical models of transformation kinetics and plasticity under stress are developed. According to experimental results, the transformation plasticity parameter k is concluded not to be a constant, but it varies with the stresses.
