Notes: Abstract Based on petrological, structural, geological and geochronological research, the authors summarize the progress of ultra-high pressure (UHP) metamorphic rock study since 1989 by Chinese geoscientists and foreign geoscientists in the Dabie-Su-Lu region. The authors introduce and discuss a two-stage exhumation process for the UHP metamorphic rocks that have various lithologies; eclogite, ultramafics, jadeitic quartzite, gneiss, schist and marble. The metamorphic history of UHP metamorphic rocks is divided into three stages, that is, the pre-eclogite stage, coesite eclogite stage, and retrograde stage. Prior to UHP metamorphism, the ultramafics had a high temperature environment assemblage of mantle and others had blueschist facies assemblages. The granulite facies assemblages, which have recorded a temperature increase event with decompression, have developed locally in the Weihai basaltic rocks. Isotopic ages show a long range from 〉 700 Ma to 200 Ma. The diversity in protoliths of UHP metamorphic rocks may be related to the variation of isotopic ages older than 400 Ma. The Sm-Nd dating of ~ 220 Ma could reflect the initial exhumation stage after the peak UHP metamorphism in relation to the collision between the Sino-Korean and Yangtze blocks and subsequent events. Petrological and structural evidence imply a two-stage exhumation process. During the initial exhumation, the UHP metamorphic rocks were sheared and squeezed up in a high P/T regime. In the second exhumation stage the UHP metamorphic rocks were uplifted and eventually exposed with middle crustal rocks.

Notes: Abstract The controllability for switched linear systems with time-delay in controls is first investigated. The whole work contains three parts. This is the second part. The definition and determination of controllability of switched linear systems with single time-delay in control functions is mainly investigated. The sufficient and necessary conditions for the oneperiodic, multiple-periodic controllability of periodic-type systems and controllability of periodic systems are presented, respectively.

Notes: Abstract The controllability for switched linear system with time-delay in controls was first investigated. The whole work contains three parts. This is the first part, including problem formulation and some preliminaries. Firstly, the mathematical model of switched linear systems with time-delay in control functions was presented. Secondly, the concept of column space, cyclic invariant subspace and generalized cyclic invariant subspace were introduced. And some basic properties, such as separation lemma, were presented. Finally, a basic lemma was given to reveal the relation between the solution set of a centain integral equations and the generalized cyclic invariant subspace. This lemma will play an important role in the determination of controllability. All these definitions and lemmas are necessary research tools for controllability analysis.

The sufficient and necessary conditions for the one-periodic, multiple-periodic controllability of periodic-type systems and controllability of aperiodic systems are presented, respectively. Finally, the case of distinct delays is discussed, it is shown that the controllability is independent of the size of delays.

Notes: Abstract It is difficult to solve the contact problem by usual finite element program. In this paper, we express the contact problem as an optimization problem. In this form we do not need to know all boundary condition in advance. We only need to know the constraint conditions. This method is especially good for solving contact problem. Using this method, we calculate the stresses of the softwheel in the harmonic gear given by Shanghai Jiaotong University, and the results are in good agreement with the experimental results.

Description: When identifying the key features of the network intrusion signal based on the GA-RBF algorithm (using the genetic algorithm to optimize the radial basis) to identify the key features of the network intrusion signal, the pre-processing process of the network intrusion signal data is neglected, resulting in an increase in network signal data noise, reducing the accuracy of key feature recognition. Therefore, a key feature recognition algorithm for network intrusion signals based on neural network and support vector machine is proposed. The principal component neural network (PCNN) is used to extract the characteristics of the network intrusion signal and the support vector machine multi-classifier is constructed. The feature extraction result is input into the support vector machine classifier. Combined with PCNN and SVM (Support Vector Machine) algorithms, the key features of network intrusion signals are identified. The experimental results show that the algorithm has the advantages of high precision, low false positive rate and the recognition time of key features of R2L (it is a common way of network intrusion attack) data set is only 3.18 ms.

Description: Article Published sequencing data sets of cancer samples could be used to identify genetic variants associated with the risk of developing cancer. Here, Lu et al . analyse over 4,000 tumour-normal pairs to reveal variable frequencies of inherited susceptibilities across 12 cancer types and find enrichment of functionally validated missense variants of unknown significance. Description: Building utility tunnels has been widely adopted as an important solution for the sustainable development of cities, but their unique fire problems have not attracted enough attention to date. With the purpose of preliminarily understanding the fire phenomena in a utility tunnel, this study performed a comprehensive analysis, including the burning behaviour of accommodated cables, hot gas temperature field and enhanced fuel burning rates based on bench-scale, full-scale and model-scale fire tests. The critical exposed radiative heat flux for the 10-kV power cable to achieve complete burning was identified. The whole burning process was divided into five phases. The cable’s noteworthy hazards and dangerous fire behaviours were also examined. The two-dimensional (2D) gas temperature fields and longitudinal maximum temperature distributions were investigated carefully, after which a versatile model was derived. The model predicted the maximum temperature attenuation of both upstream and downstream flows reasonably well. Finally, the phenomenon of enhanced fuel burning was explored. A multivariate cubic function that considers the global effects of relative width, height and distance was further proposed to estimate the enhancement coefficient. The current findings can provide designers and operators with valuable guidance for the integrated promotion of utility tunnels’ fire safety level.

Description: Phylogenetic tree is essential to understand evolution and it is usually constructed through multiple sequence alignment, which suffers from heavy computational burdens and requires sophisticated parameter tuning. Recently, alignment free methods based on k-mer profiles or common substrings provide alternative ways to construct phylogenetic trees. However, most of these methods ignore the global similarities between sequences or some specific valuable features, e.g., frequent patterns overall datasets. To make further improvement, we propose an alignment free algorithm based on sequential pattern mining, where each sequence is converted into a binary representation of sequential patterns among sequences. The phylogenetic tree is further constructed via clustering distance matrix which is calculated from pattern vectors. To increase accuracy for highly divergent sequences, we consider pattern weight and filtering redundancy sub-patterns. Both simulated and real data demonstrates our method outperform other alignment free methods, especially for large sequence set with low similarity.
