    Description / Table of Contents: By the reaction of PCl5 · TaCl5 with AsF3 chlorine is exchanged by fluorine and TaCl4F is formed. In acetonitrile acting as polar solvent probably a ionic form exists in a transitory way whereas in the melt (m. p. 214°) according to measurements of the electric conductivity a homöopolar configuration is present. In weak polar solvents the homöopolar configuration is favoured. The qualities of TaCl4F are analogous to NbCl4F.
    Notes: Durch Umsetzen von PCl5 · TaCl5 mit AsF3 entsteht unter Chlor-Fluor-Austausch die Verbindung TaCl4F. In Acetonitril (polares Lösungsmittel) tritt sie wahrscheinlich vorübergehend in Ionenform auf, während in der Schmelze (Schmp. 214°C) nach Leitfähigkeitsmessungen die homöopolare Form vorliegt. In schwach polaren Lösungsmitteln ist ebenfalls die hoöopolare Form bevorzugt. Die Eigenschaften sind der entsprechenden Verbindung NbCl4F analog.
