    Notes: Nanometer-sized Al2O3 particles were successfully synthesized as crystalline inclusions by mixing both components to form the nanometer-sized particles and the (Sc,Lu)2(WO4)3 matrices in a crystal lattice by preparing a solid solution of (Sc,Lu)2(WO4)3 and Al2(MoO4)3 and then decomposing the solid solution. The particles were dispersed uniformly and without agglomeration, which is commonly observed with conventional preparation techniques. The average particle size of the Al2O3 was 3.5 nm, and the standard deviation was estimated to be 1.1 nm.

    Description / Table of Contents: The Influence of Structural Chemistry on the Ionic Conductivity in Na+/La3+-β″-Alumina CrystalsThe influence of the crystal composition on the structure of Na+/La3+-β″-alumina crystals has been investigated by single crystal X-ray diffraction methods at room temperature. For an example, the structure determination of a nearly fully exchanged La3+-β″-alumina crystal with the composition Na0,03La0,47Mg0,60Al10,47O17 (degree of exchange ζ = 98%, related to Na+ content) is given (R3m, Z = 3, a = 562,7(3) pm, c = 3353,8(17) pm). The structural chemical results are connected with the ionic conductivity data of Na+/La3+-β″-Al2O3 crystals which have been determined by impedance spectroscopy. With growing La3+ content the conductivity σ decreases with increasing activation energy Ea. For crystals with a defined degree of exchange Ea decreases for lowered cation concentrations within the conduction planes.
    Notes: Anhand röntgenographischer Einkristalluntersuchungen bei Raumtemperatur wird der Einfluß der Kristallzusammensetzung auf die Struktur von Na+/La3+-β″-Al2O3-Kristallen ermittelt. Als explizites Beispiel ist die Strukturbestimmung eines nahezu vollausgetauschten La3+-β″-Al2O3-Kristalls der Zusammensetzung Na0,03La0,47Mg0,60Al10,47O17 (Austauschgrad ζ = 98%, bezogen auf den Na+-Gehalt) angegeben (R3m, Z = 3, a = 562,7(3) pm, c = 3353,8(17) pm). Die strukturchemischen Resultate werden mit impedanzspektroskopisch ermittelten Leitfähigkeitsdaten von Na+/La3+-β″-Al2O3-Kristallen in Zusammenhang gesetzt. Dabei fällt mit zunehmendem La3+-Einbau die Ionenleitfähigkeit σ, bei gleichzeitigem Anstieg der Aktivierungsenergie Ea, ab. In Na+/La3+-β″-Al2O3-Kristallen mit definiertem Austauschgrad ist ein Abfall von Ea bei kleineren Konzentrationen der Leitungsschichtionen zu beobachten.

    Description / Table of Contents: RhTeCl - the First Chalcogenide Halide of a Platinum Metal with Layer StructureBlack, platelet like crystals of RhTeCl were obtained by chemical transport reaction. The crystal structure of this new chalkogenide halide of a platinum metal was determined at room temperature by single crystal X-ray diffraction on an “Imaging-Plate” -diffractometer. In contradiction to other known chalkogenide halides of platinum metals RhTeCl crystallizes in a layer structure which is derivable from the CdI2-structure type and which can be refined in the monoclinic spacegroup Cm with the lattice constants a = 1298.81(24), b = 364.05(4), c = 665.28(13) pm, β = 118.76(2)°.
    Notes: Durch chemischen Transport konnten schwarze, plättchenförmige Einkristalle von RhTeCl erhalten werden. Die Kristallstruktur dieses bisher unbekannten Chalkogenidhalogenids eines Platinmetalls wurde röntgenographisch bei Raumtemperatur an einem Einkristall mittels IPDS-Diffraktometerdaten bestimmt. RhTeCl besitzt im Gegensatz zu anderen bekannten Verbindungen dieser Substanzklasse eine schichtartige Kristallstruktur, die sich vom CdI2-Strukturtyp ableiten und mit den Gitterkonstanten a = 1298,81(24), b = 364,05(4), c = 665,28(13) pm, β = 118,76(2)° in der monoklinen Raumgruppe Cm verfeinern läßt.

    Description / Table of Contents: Tertiary and bitertiary amines like trimethylamine, pyridine,N,N,N′,N′-tetraethylethylenediamine, bipyridyl and phenanthroline react with zinc diaryls yielding colourless or pale yellow coordination compounds. The analogous complexes of zinc dibenzyl behave similar to related compounds of zinc dialkyls with long alkyl groups. They are much more sensitive against atmospheric oxygen than the complexes of zinc diaryls.
    Notes: Tertiäre und ditertiäre Amine wie Trimethylamin, Pyridin, N,N,N′,N′ -Tetraäthyläthylendiamin, 2, 2′ -Dipyridyl und 1, 10-Phenanthrolin bilden mit Zinkdiarylen farblose bzw. hellgelbe, nur wenig luftempfindliche Komplexverbindungen. Die analogen. sehr oxydationsempfindlichen Addukte des erstmalig dargestellten Zinkdibenzyls besitzen ähnliche Eigenschaften wie entsprechende Addukte langkettiger Zinkdialkyle.

    Description / Table of Contents: Structural Chemistry and Impedance Spectroscopy of Mg2+ stabilized Na+/Pr3+-β″-AluminasThe structure with the ionic distribution in the conduction planes of a Pr3+-exchanged Mg2+ stabilized Na+-β″-alumina crystal, composition determined by electron microprobe analysis to Na1.19Pr0.13Mg0.49Al10.49O17 (degree of exchange ξ = 25%, related to Na+ content), has been investigated by single crystal X-ray diffraction methods at room temperature (R3m, Z = 3, a = 561.8(2) pm, c = 3 361.5(11) pm). Pr3+ is slightly shifted in the ab-plane from the centrosymmetric 9 d (mO) into a 18 h site. Na+ occupies 18 h as well as 6 c (BR) positions. Ionic conductivity data of Mg2+ stabilized Na+/Pr3+-β″-Al2O3 crystals with varying degree of exchange determined by impedance spectroscopy are given in an Arrhenius diagram. With growing Pr3+ content the conductivity σ decreases with increasing activation energy.
    Notes: Die Struktur mit der Ionenverteilung in den Leitungsschichten eines Pr3+-ausgetauschten Mg2+-stabilisierten Na+-β″-Al2O3-Kristalls, analytisch durch Mikrosondemessungen bestimmte Zusammensetzung Na1,19Pr0,13Mg0,49Al10,49O17 (Austauschgrad ξ = 25%, bezogen auf Na+-Gehalt), wurde bei Raumtemperatur anhand röntgenographischer Einkristalldaten bestimmt (R3m, Z = 3, a = 561,8(2) pm, c = 3 361,5(11) pm). Pr3+ ist innerhalb der ab-Ebene geringfügig von der zentrosymmetrischen 9 d (mO) Lage in eine 18 h-Position ausgelenkt. Na+ besetzt sowohl die Punktlage 18 h als auch 6 c (BR). Impedanzspektroskopisch ermittelte Leitfähigkeitsdaten werden in Form eines Arrhenius-Diagramms für Mg2+-stabilisierte Na+/Pr3+-β″-Al2O3-Kristalle unterschiedlichen Austauschgrades vorgestellt. Mit zunehmendem Pr3+-Einbau fällt die Ionenleitfähigkeit σ, bei gleichzeitigem Anstieg der Aktivierungsenergie, ab.

    Description / Table of Contents: Crystal Structure of the Low Temperature Modification of RuTe2Black shining, platelet like single crystals of α-RuTe2 were obtained by chemical transport reaction with Cl2/AlCl3 (crystal dimensions up to 1 mm). The crystal structure of this low temperature modification of α-RuTe2 hitherto only known from powder measurements, was redetermined at room temperature by single crystal X-ray diffraction on a four-circle diffractometer. α-RuTe2 crystallizes in the marcasit structure typ in the orthorhombic spacegroup Pnnm (No. 58) with the lattice constants a = 528.12(13), b = 639.43(19), c = 400.85(13) pm.
    Notes: Durch chemischen Transport mit dem Transportmittel Cl2/AlCl3 konnten schwarzglänzende, plattenartige Einkristalle von α-RuTe2 erhalten werden (Kantenlänge bis zu 1 mm). Die Kristallstruktur dieser bisher nur aus Pulverdaten bekannten Tieftemperaturmodifikation von RuTe2 wurde röntgenographisch an einem Einkristall auf einem Vierkreisdiffraktometer bei Raumtemperatur neu bestimmt. α-RuTe2 kristallisiert im Markasit-Strukturtyp in der orthorhombischen Raumgruppe Pnnm (Nr. 58) mit den Gitterkonstanten a = 528,12(13), b = 639,43(19), c = 400,85(13) pm.
