In:  Supplement to: Jing-jing, Zhu; Rui-zhong, Hu; Xian-wu, Bi; Hong, Zhong; Heng, Chen (2011): Zircon U-Pb ages, Hf-O isotopes and whole-rock Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic geochemistry of granitoids in the Jinshajiang suture zone, SW China: constraints on petrogenesis and tectonic evolution of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean. Lithos, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.lithos.2011.07.003

Description: The Jinshajiang suture zone, located in the eastern part of the Tethyan tectonic domain, is noticeable for a large-scale distribution of Late Jurassic to Triassic granitoids. These granitoids were genetically related to the evolution of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean. The Beiwu, Linong and Lunong granitoids occur in the middle zone of the Jinshajiang Suture Zone, and possess similar geochemical features, indicating they share a common magma source. SIMS zircon U-Pb dating reveals the Beiwu, Linong and Lunong granitic intrusions were emplaced at 233.9±1.4 Ma (2 sigma), 233.1 ±1.4 Ma (2 sigma) and 231.0±1.6 Ma (2 sigma), respectively. All of these granitoids are enriched in abundances of Si (SiO2 =65.2-73.5 wt.%), and large-ion-lithophile-elements (LILEs), but depleted in high-field-strength-elements contents (HFSEs, e.g., Nb, Ta, Ti). In addition, they have low P2O5 contents (0.06-0.11 wt.%), A/CNK values ([molecular Al2O3/(CaO+Na2O+K2O)], mostly〈1.1) and 10000Ga/Al ratios (1.7-2.2), consistent with the characteristics of I-type granites. In terms of isotopic compositions, these granitoids have high initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.7078-0.7148), Pb isotopic compositions [(206Pb/204Pb)t=18.213-18.598, (207Pb/204Pb)t=15.637-15.730 and (208Pb/204Pb)t=38.323-38.791], zircon d18O values (7. per mil-9.3 per mil) and negative eNd(t) values (-5.1 to -6.7), suggesting they were predominantly derived from the continental crust. Their Nb/Ta ratios (average value=8.6) are consistent with those of the lower continental crust (LCC). However, variable ?Hf(t) values (-8.6 to +2.8) and the occurrences of mafic microgranular enclaves (MMEs) suggest that mantle-derived melts and lower crustal magmas were involved in the generation of these granitoids. Moreover, the high Pb isotopic ratios and elevated zircon d18O values of these rocks indicate a significant contribution of the upper crustal composition. We propose a model in which the Beiwu, Linong and Lunong granitoids were generated under a late collisional or post-collisional setting. It is possible that this collision was completed before Late Triassic. Decompression induced mantle-derived magmas underplated and provided the heat for the anatexis of the crust. Hybrid melts including mantle-derived and the lower crustal magmas were then generated. The hybrid melts thereafter ascended to a shallow depth and resulted in some degree of sedimentary rocks assimilation. Such three-component mixing magmas source and subsequent fractional crystallization could be responsible for the formation of the Beiwu, Linong and Lunong granitoids.

Notes: Magnesium and its alloys are possible to develop new type of biodegradable medicalmagnesium alloys by using their active corrosion potential. The bio-corrosion properties of the highpure magnesium in the Hank’s solution were investigated in this paper, the results showed that highpure magnesium had a low corrosion rate and hydrogen release in Hank’s solution, when the pH valueof solution was controlled at 7.5, the corrosion rate was under 0.2mm/year, the production of hydrogenwas about 0.15ml/cm2, and if the solution wasn’t controlled on pH value, the corrosion rate was about0.02 mm/year, production of hydrogen was about 0.1ml/cm2 . Result of in vitro Kinetic clotting timetest and animal implant prep-test showed that High pure magnesium had good thromboresistantproperty and tissue compatibility, pure magnesium can biodegrade lowly in animal body and formedsurface apatite, which proportion of Ca/P was similar with bone tissue

Notes: The tension of warp and weft run through the whole weaving process in knitted carpetweaving equipment. The performance of delivering warp mechanism and guiding weft mechanismin this kind of equipment influences the quality of carpet directly. A self-adjusting delivering warpmechanism is designed in this thesis, which is used in knitted carpet weaving equipment or othertextile equipment that delivers warp by warp-spindle and demands even warp tension. Theself-adjusting delivering warp mechanism consists of the device for setting and detecting warptension, the device for driving warp-spindle in different speed, and the device for transmittingwarp-spindle movement. The device for setting and detecting warp tension can determineinitialization tension of warp, according to the technical requirements, can detect and feed backwarp tension in real time. The device for driving warp-spindle in different speed makes the rotatingspeed of warp-spindle change according to the warp tension. The self-adjusting delivering warpmechanism realizes the function on controlling the rotating speed of warp-spindle in closed loop, and on stabilizing delivering warp tension

Notes: In this work, a new method, electro-thermal explosion ultra-high speed spraying (EEUSS),was utilized to synthesize the titanium carbide based and nickel bonded (TiC-xNi) coatings. Thenickel content was varied at the weight percents of 5, 10, 15 and 20%. The microstructure andproperties of the coatings were studied by means of scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-raydiffraction (XRD) and microhardness tester, respectively. The TiC-xNi coatings had the metallurgicalbonding with the substrate, and consisted of submicron grains. The grain abrasion tests resultsshowed that the abrasion resistance of the coatings was affected by the contents of Ni

Notes: With aim to investigate the effect of the content of Ni on erosion behavior of the TiC-xNicoating at elevated temperatures, The TiC-xNi (x=0, 5, 10, 15 , 20wt.%) composite coatings werein-situ synthesized on nickel-based alloy substrate by the self-developed electro-thermal explosionultra-high speed spraying (EEUSS) device with the cored wire. Erosion properties of the coatingswere assessed by the erosion tester under 90° incidence angle and 650°C. X-ray diffraction (XRD)and microhardness tester were used to investigate the coating phases and microhardness. The coatingsconsisted of TiC phase and Ni binder phase, as well as the residual C. The microhardness of TiC-xNicoating with the Ni content from 5 wt.% to 20wt.% decreased with the increase of the content of Ni.Elevated temperature erosion test indicate that the spiculate quartz particles impact the surface of thecoating which lead to the loss of material. The erosion resistance of the TiC-xNi coatings increasedfirst and decreased afterwards with the increase of the content of Ni. The relative erosion resistance ofcoating with 10 wt.% Ni addition is excellent which is about 2 times than that of TiC-20Ni coatingunder 650°C and 90° incidence angle

Notes: In this paper, the continuous in-situ observations of the fatigue crack growth in U71Mn andU75V rail steel are made by using the scanning electronic microscope (SEM). The microstructurepatterns of cracks under the mode I fatigue loads and quasi-static loads are presented. The resultsindicate that the short fatigue crack growth in rail steel is a quasi-cleavage fracture. The ductility andthe performance of fatigue resistance of U71Mn rail steel are better than those of U75V rail steel
