    Description: Vaginocervical stimulation affects progesterone secretion, sperm transport, sexual receptivity, locomotion, and perception of pain in female rats. In this experiment, vaginocervical stimulation produced statistically significant increases in the metabolic uptake of carbon-14-labeled 2-deoxy-D-glucose in the following brain areas (ordered by magnitude of uptake): medial preoptic, mesencephalic reticular formation, bed nucleus of stria terminalis, dorsal raphe, and globus pallidus.     Metabolic mapping of functional activity in human subjects with the [18F]fluorodeoxyglucose technique (1981)

    Description: The 2-[18F]fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose technique was used to measure regional cerebral glucose utilization by human subjects during functional activation. Normal male volunteers subjected to one or more sensory stimuli (tactile, visual, or auditory) exhibited focal increases in glucose metabolism in response to the stimulus. Unilateral visual hemifield stimulation caused the contralateral striate cortex to become more metabolically active than the striate cortex ipsilateral to the stimulated hemifield. Similarly, stroking the fingers and hand of one arm with brush produced an increase in metabolism in the contralateral postcentral gyrus, compared with the homologous ipsilateral region. The auditory stimulus, which consisted of a monaurally presented factual story caused an increase in glucose metabolism in the auditory cortex in the hemisphere contralateral to the stimulated ear.     Abstract: Реюме Обсуждаются фазовые равновесия вP-T-x пространстве в квазибинарной системе с соединением состава 1∶1. Показано, что конгруэнтностъ или инконгрузнтностъ фазового перехода 1 рода не зависит от формы линии трехфазного равновесия в области фазового перехода.
    Notes: Summary Phase arrangement in the (P, T, x)-space is discussed for a quasi-binary system in which a 1∶1 compound is formed. Congruent or incongruent phase transitions of the first order are shown to be independent of the shape of the three-phase equilibrium curve in the phase transition region.

    Notes: Abstract DSC and vapour pressure measurements are presented on some Be, Al and Cr complexes with 2,4-pentanedione tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedione, 1,1,1-trifluoro-2,4-pentanedione and hexafluoro-2,4-pentanedione. Thermodynamic functions are given for the sublimation, vaporization and melting processes of the substances.

    Notes: Abstract Citrate precursor technology was used to prepare fluorine substituted Bi(Pb)SCCO 2 2 2 3 superconducting phase. Samples with the nominal composition of up to three F atoms per formula were synthesized. A number of experimental methods have been used to characterize the samples and to trace the phase transformations during the preparation process: DTA/TGA, XRD, EPMA (WDS and EDS), atomic absorption, potentiometry with fluoride selective electrode, resistance and inductive measurements. Fluorine was shown to enhance considerably the formation of the 2 2 2 3 phase. Thermodynamic calculations of P-T-X equilibrium in the Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O-F-C-H-N system were made in a wide temperature range to determine the composition of the vapours coexisting with the solid phases at different stages of the preparation process.

    Notes: Abstract Sol-gel citrate technology was used to prepare BiSCCO 2223 and 2212 superconducting phases. Fluorine in the initial mixture was shown to enhance considerably formation of the 2223 phase. Fluorine substitution of up to three F atoms per Bi(Pb)SCCO 2223 formula was achieved by treatment of the sample in 80 Torr ClF3 atmosphere. A number of experimental methods have been used to characterize the samples and to trace the phase transformations in the sol-gel process: DTA/TG, XRD, atomic absorption, potentiometry with fluoride selective electrode, magnetic susceptibility measurements.
