    Description: The studies on the use of municipal wastewater sludge as an unconventional chemical ameliorant with a fertilizing effect were carried out on ore dressing waste ("tailings") of the apatite-nepheline plant ANOF-2 KF JSC "Apatit" with a predominance of nepheline sands in their composition. The tailings dump is included in the list of objects of accumulated environmental damage in the region, but due to its rich mineral composition, it is recognized as a technogenic deposit subject to conservation for the prospect of obtaining apatite, nepheline, sphene, aegirine and titanomagnetite concentrates. In the work, the method of phytotesting of soil irrigated with unfiltered rainwater with fragmentary application of sewage sludge of a regional wastewater treatment plant enterprise has been applied. The experiments have been carried out on a single-species seed recommended for reclamation of disturbed territories in the northern regions. During the formation of a sown phytocenosis from meadow timothy (Phleum pratense L.) on nepheline sands, the stimulating effect of sewage sludge on the nutrient regime of the soil is confirmed. After phytoextraction (at the end of the experiment), it retains a high residual pool of basic nutrients (N, P, K), which indicates a prolonged action of sewage sludge. To confirm the effect obtained in laboratory conditions, a field experiment has been laid at the ANOF-2 reserve tailing dump in 2019, observations are continuing.
    Description: Лабораторные опыты по применению осадка муниципальных сточных вод в качестве нетрадиционного химического мелиоранта с удобрительным эффектом проводились на отходах рудообогащения (хвостах) АНОФ-2 КФ АО "Апатит" с преобладанием в их составе нефелиновых песков. Хвостохранилище включено в перечень объектов накопленного экологического ущерба в регионе, но благодаря богатому минеральному составу признается техногенным месторождением, подлежащим консервации для получения в перспективе апатитового, нефелинового, сфенового, эгиринового и титаномагнетитового концентратов. В ходе исследования применен метод фитотестирования грунта, орошаемого нефильтрованной дождевой водой, с фрагментарным нанесением осадка сточных вод (ОСВ) регионального предприятия ВКХ. Опыты проводились на одновидовом посевном материале, рекомендованном для рекультивации нарушенных территорий северных регионов. При формировании на нефелиновых песках сеяного фитоценоза из тимофеевки луговой Phleum pratense L. подтвержден стимулирующий эффект ОСВ на питательный режим грунта. После фитоэкстракции в нем сохраняется высокий остаточный пул основных питательных элементов N, P, K, что свидетельствует о пролонгированном действии ОСВ. На резервном хвостохранилище АНОФ-2 в 2019 г. заложен полевой эксперимент с целью подтверждения эффекта, полученного в лабораторных условиях, и признания предлагаемого метода альтернативой традиционным методам рекультивации техногрунтов.

    Notes: Abstract Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra of samples of the systems Ba1−x KxBiO3 and BaPbyBi1−y O3 are investigated over wide ranges of composition and temperature. Two main lines in the EPR spectrum with factors g 1≈2.1 and g 2≈4.2 are found for all compositions. It is shown that the observed EPR line with g 2≈4.2 is due to oxygen ions. This probably indicates the presence of oxygen ions with different effective charges, i.e., the existence of charge density waves in the oxygen-ion sublattice in addition to charge density waves in the bismuth sublattice.

    Notes: Single crystal 3C–SiC platelets, formed by thermal decomposition of methyltrichlorosilane at 1650–1750 °C, have been characterized in terms of structure and morphology. The platelets are ∼3–5 mm in length and 1–1.5 mm in thickness. The (111) C face of the crystal, which has an effective zero growth rate, presents a large, mirrorlike surface in the as-grown 3C crystals. Atomic force microscopy indicates that these as-grown surfaces are extraordinarily flat and uniform, with a mean surface roughness of 1–2 A(ring). This value is comparable with the roughness of state-of-art polished Si wafers. X-ray rocking curves of the 〈111〉 peak were obtained with a linewidth of 12.3 arcsec. This is the smallest value reported to date for any polytype of SiC. Raman spectroscopy at 300 K reveals a very sharp TO–phonon peak at 797.8 cm−1, with a linewidth of 2.1 cm−1. © 1996 American Institute of Physics.

    Notes: Summary Experiments with intravenous injections of an aqueous extract of cellophane sheet into dogs showed that there were no significant changes in the blood pressure or respiration, nor any disturbances of the animal's general condition. It was found by experiments in vitro that Soviet cellophane membrane caused no significant changes in the blood cells and was impermeable to protein molecules. Soviet cellophane membranous sheet may, therefore, be recommended for use in the artificial kidney apparation.
