Abstract The three-dimensional elastic problems in finite deformations are not known to have been analyzed by the usual stress function and displacement function. By applying Hasegava's presentation and Adkins perturbation method, we propose a new analytical method for three-dimensional elastic problems for compressible materials and incompressible materials, using the displacement function for axisymmetrical elastic problems in finite deformations with surface force or body force. Further, this analytical method is examined by two simple examples.
