Abstract NMR and IR spectra are used to show that alcoholic solutions of this free radical have hydrogen bonds from the oxygen of the NO group to the OH of the alcohol. The proton T1 and T2 for the solvent give an estimate of the constant for the hyperfine interaction between the unpaired electron and the OH proton: A/h==104 cps. The dipole-dipole interaction gives rise to the main contribution to the width of the OH lines for the bound molecules. The energy of the hydrogen bond is evaluated from the temperature shift in the OH line.
