    Evaluation of S190A radiometric exposure test data (1974)

    Description: The S190A preflight radiometric exposure test data generated as part of preflight and system test of KM-002 Sequence 29 on flight camera S/N 002 was analyzed. The analysis was to determine camera system transmission using available data which included: (1) films exposed to a calibrated light source subject; (2) filter transmission data; (3) calibrated light source data; (4) density vs. log10 exposure curves for the films; and (5) spectral sensitometric data for the films. The procedure used is outlined, and includes the data and a transmission matrix as a function of field position for nine measured points on each station-film-filter-aperture-shutter speed combination.

    Description: An investigation was undertaken to identify those photographic laboratory by-products which can produce harmful reactions if released untreated. After identification of these by-products, specific monitoring systems for each of the offending ions were investigated and recommendations for implementation are presented.     Improved density discrimination using agfacontour film (1973)

    Description: A technique was developed for obtaining tone separations from black and white photographic materials. Agfacontour film and photographic derivatives are utilized to improve the density discrimination and decrease the density range from 0.45 to 0.08 units. This increase in capability extends the usefulness of tone separations to a wider range of subject matter and problem areas.

    Description: The results obtained by the Photo Science Office in the evaluation of Agfacontour Professional Film are presented. The feasibility of utilizing this film in the evaluation of aerial or extraterrestrial imagery has been investigated. Sensitometric properties have been determined, and optimum handling techniques have been identified in an attempt to facilitate better use of the material.
