Description: 〈span〉〈div〉Abstract〈/div〉The availability of reliable simultaneous source deblending routines in seismic data processing allows 3D survey designers to consider the use of more than the traditional two sources used in marine towed streamer 3D surveys. Crossline sampling with sources rather than streamers provides opportunities to produce denser sampling for the same vessel sail-line effort, or the same sampling with fewer streamers, and/or the same sampling with wider streamer separations resulting in a considerable uplift in vessel efficiencies and reductions in cost, operational risks, and crew safety exposure.〈/span〉
