Conclusions 1. Use of the tunneling method for excavating the cut for the dam core made it possible to place the loam in the dam core simultaneously with the preparatory work for blasting at the higher levels. 2. The distribution of the heap of blasted rock over a large area made it possible to use several excavators and, consequently, to reduce the time of completing the work. 3. In this method, it is not necessary to construct additional dropping places at the working levels.
