    Description: In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird ein Überblick gegeben über die Erforschung sozialer Varietäten des Russischen, die schon seit einigen Jahrzehnten in der Sowjetunion tabuisiert sind. Es wird sowohl die Forschung vor als auch nach der Oktoberrevolution berücksichtigt. Zusammenhänge zwischen Politik und der jeweils betriebenen Soziolektologie werden aufgezeigt.
