Description / Table of Contents:
The systems KBr—AlBr3, RbBr—AlBr3 and CsBr—AlBr3 have been subjected to a thermal examination up to about 60 mol-% alkali bromide. Besides the compounds KAlBr4 (c) and KAl2Br7 (i), already found by Kendall, the existence of RbAlBr4 (c), RbAl2Br7 (i), CsAlBr4 (c) and CsAl2Br7 (i) has been shown. As in the KBr—AlBr3 system, there also exists a miscibility gap in the other investigated systems below about 22 mol-% alkali bromide. At the boundary of these gaps there probably exist the compounds K2Al7Br23, Rb2Al7Br23 und Cs2Al7Br23, respectively.
Notes:
Cs2Al7Br23.
