Description / Table of Contents:
Syntheses with Silver or Sodium Pyrazoles, I. Preparation of Mono- and PolyhalopyrazolesA stepwise chlorination of pyrazole and of 3- or 4-halopyrazoles can be carried out via their silver salts. The silver salt 1 of pyrazol yields 4-halopyrazoles and the silver salts 5a -c of halopyrazoles yield 3(5),4-dihalopyrazoles. Trihalopyrazoles are prepared either from 5a -c with 2 moles of halogen or from the silver salt 9 of a 3(5),4-dihalopyrazole. In addition chlorination produces side products formed by the condensation of several pyrazole molecules. 4,4′-Dichloro-1,3′(5′)-bipyrazolyl (3) is obtained from 1 and a trichloroterpyrazolyl having structure 4 is obtained from 5a together with 3.
Notes:
