Abstract The antifriction properties in dry sliding friction of cermet materials based on iron with additions of aluminum, barium, calcium, and magnesium fluorides were studied. It was found that materials with calcium fluoride additions have the best antifriction properties, and that the optimum CaF2 content in iron-base antifriction materials is 10–20 vol.%.
