Conclusions A sedimentation method was used to study the concentration of dissolved substances of s.s.1. and of water-extracted wood pulp substances as a factor in the behavior of the high-dispersion fraction of the quartz sand in the slip composition. It was shown that these substances cause the sand particles to form aggregates. An investigation was carried out of the influence of electrolytes and polyelectrolytes added to the slip on the aggregation process of the high-dispersion phase of the slip composition. It was demonstrated that in principle it is possible to accelerate the filtration of the slip composition for inserts by a factor of 1.6–2.0 by the addition of electrolytes and by a factor of 1.5–4.0 by the addition of polyelectrolytes of the cation—anion and anion types.
