Abstract Injured and uninjured roots of peach trees in the field were inoculated with several isolates ofClitocybe tabescens. After 2 years, most of the isolates had infected the injured roots, whereas only a few isolates infected the uninjured roots. The fungus usually was more extensively distributed in the injured roots.
