    Notes: A dynamic rescaling method is used to simulate numerically the dynamics of a collapsing wave packet in three-dimensional Langmuir turbulence, governed by the vector Zakharov equations. Subsonic and supersonic regimes are considered. For a large class of initial conditions with a single maximum for the field intensity, the collapse is found to be nearly self-similar and weakly anisotropic, while in the subsonic or near subsonic limit the electric field may develop strong anisotropy at early times and break apart into two peaks.

    Notes: Five wheat-triticale doubled haploid (DH) lines— M08, V209, DH220-14-2, DH696-3-4 and M16 —derived from anther culture of F1s resulting from crosses involving hexaploid or octoploid triticale × hexaploid wheat, were characterized by cytological and biochemical markers. Cytological evidence from genomic in situ hybridization and C-banding indicated that DH lines M08 and V209 (2n= 42) each contained a pair of 1BL/1RS translocation chromosomes. DH220-14-2 (2n= 42) was also a translocated line with two pairs of chromosomes containing small fragments of rye. One of the translocation fragments carried the Sec-1R gene originating from the satellite region of 1RS; the origin of the other one remains unknown. DH696-3-4 (2n= 42) contained a 3D(3R) substitution. In M16 (2n= 44), three pairs of rye chromosomes, 3R, 4R and 6R, were present, 4R as an addition and 3D(3R) and 6D(6R) as substitutions. Biochemical, isozyme and storage protein markers confirmed the cytological conclusions. The advantages of transferring alien chromosomes or chromosome fragments into wheat and creating alien aneuploid lines by anther culture of hybrid F1s are discussed.

    Notes: Powdery mildew (caused by Erysiphe graminis) and yellow rust (caused by Puccinia striiformis) are the two most serious wheat diseases found in China. Rye chromosomes, carrying genes for resistance to these diseases, were introduced into common wheat in two generations using chromosome engineering and anther culture. The F1 hybrids from a cross involving a hexaploid triticale (×Triticosecale Wittmack) בChinese Spring’ nulli-tetrasomic N6DT6A wheat aneuploid line were anther cultured and doubled-haploid plants were regenerated. Using genomic in situ hybridization, C-banding and biochemical marker analyses, one of the anther-cultured lines (ZH-1)studied in detail, proved to be a doubled-haploid with one rye chromosome pair added (1R) and a homozygous 6R/6D substitution (2n= 44). The line was tested for expression of disease resistance and found to be highly resistant to powdery mildew and moderately resistant to yellow rust.

    Notes: Abstract We consider the Schrödinger operatorP(h) for a polyatomic molecule in the semiclassical limit where the mass ratioh 2 of electronic to nuclear mass tends to zero. We obtain WKB-type expansions of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions ofP(h) to all orders inh. This allows to treat the splitting of the ground state energy of a non-planar molecule. Our class of potentials covers the physical case of the Coulomb interaction. We use methods ofh-pseudodifferential operators with operator valued symbols, which by use of appropriate coordinate changes in local coordinate patches covering the classically accessible region become applicable even to our class of singular potentials.

    Notes: Abstract In this paper we study the diatomic molecular scattering by reducing the number of particles through Born-Oppenheimer approximation. Under a non-trapping assumption on the effective potential of the molecular Hamiltonian we use semiclassical resolvent estimates to show that non-adiabatic corrections to the adiabatic (or Born-Oppenheimer) wave operators are small. Furthermore we study the classical limit of the adiabatic wave operators by computing its action on quantum observables microlocalized by use of coherent states.

    Revision of the genus Draconarius Ovtchinnikov 1999 (Agelenidae: Coelotinae) in Yunnan, China, with an analysis of the Coelotinae diversity in the Gaoligongshan Mountains (2010)

    Description: A total of 71 species of the spider subfamily Coelotinae are recorded from Yunnan, China. The seven species that belong to the Coelotes pseudoterrestris species group were revised by Wang et al. (2009). Three species of the genus Pireneitega, one species of the genus Platocoelotes will be studied in a future revision of the genera. The rest of the 60 Draconarius species are described in this study, including 26 new species. All the new species were collected during a 10 year inventory of the Gaoligongshan Mountains in western Yunnan by the California Academy of Sciences and the Hunan Normal University: Draconarius adnatus sp. nov. Five species are transferred from Coelotes to Draconarius: Draconarius degeneratus (Liu & Li 2009) comb. nov., D. introhamatus (Xu & Li 2006) comb. nov., D. laohuanglongensis (Liu & Li 2009) comb. nov., D. noctulus (Wang, Yin, Peng & Xie 1990) comb. nov. and D. uncatus (Liu & Li 2009) comb. nov. The males are described for the first time for D. capitulatus Wang 2003, D. pseudobrunneus Wang 2003 and D. pseudocapitulatus Wang 2003. Significant morphological variation in the epigynum and vulva was found in some relatively widespread species, particularly the D. incertus species group, although the males show relatively consistant palpal morphology. Some Draconarius species placement remains uncertain, we prefer to leave them in this genus for now. Gaoligongshan Coelotinae is found to have high levels of species diversity and endemism, and is similar to the species from central and southern China, Himalayas and Thailand. In addition to many species with their own unique characteristics, members belonging to seven species groups are recognized from Gaoligongshan, including Coelotes pseudoterrestris group species from Yunnan and Thailand; Draconarius spiralis group species endemic to Gaoligongshan; Draconarius incertus group species from southwestern China; Draconarius lutulentus group species from the Himalayas to central and southern China; Draconarius laticavus group species from Himalayas and Yunnan; Draconarius gurkha group species from Himalayas and Yunnan; and Draconarius terebratus group species from Yunnan. But no Draconarius venustus group species, which are widespread in East Asia, has been collected from Gaoligongshan. A key to Draconarius from Yunnan is provided.
