Notes:
The construction of a compact and low cost convex crystal x-ray spectrometer is described. A mica sheet of about 100 μm thick is bent over a cylindrical surface to form the convex crystal. The spectrometer is expected to be able to cover the wavelength range between 1 and 19 A(ring). This spectrometer can serve as a convenient means for obtaining a preliminary scanning of the probable x-ray emission spectrum of plasma as a prelude to more careful and accurate spectral measurements.
