Conclusions The surface of refractory filler exerts a significant influence on the state of the polymer matrix, polycondensation, coking and oxidation of the phenol-formaldehyde bond. The degree of reaction of the bond with the filler increases with increase in the basicity of the filler and increase in its surface. In this case, there is an increase in the strength of the composition, and reductions in the coke residue upon carbonization of the bond, and the resistance to the oxidative action of the atmospheric oxygen.
