Notes:
Conclusions 1. The criteria used in selecting materials for tools must be chosen in accordance with the operating conditions of the tool. 2. Heading dies with an adequate service life can be obtained only by preliminary compression of the material near the working surface, for which purpose composite dies are the best. 3. The criterion for selecting the material to ensure the strength of inserts in composite dies should be the resistance to compression and not the toughness, tensile strength, fatigue strength, or any other mechanical property.
