Notes:
Summary Candidiasis of human scalp is reported for the first time from India. The characteristic symptoms of the disease are the sharply demarcated, raised oval to round lesions somewhat similar to typical patches of thrush with a little whitish exudation, causing pain and loss of hair in the affected part. The pathogen is identified asCandida albicans and its growth and fermentation reactions have been studied in appropriate media.
