Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
A study of alkyl biguanides like n-propyl-, isopropyl-, n-butyl- and (β-sulphonic acid ethyl) biguanides as chelating ligands has been made and their complex compounds with copper(II), nickel(II), palladium(II), zinc(II) and cobalt(III) have been described. Their compositions are represented by: [M(B′),] and [M(B′H),]X, · nH2O; where M = Cu(II), Ni(II), Pd(II) and Zn(I1); B′H = a molecule of substituted biguanide. Copper(II) also formes with sulphonated alkylbiguanide a compound of the formula [Cu(B*)2] K2 · 11 H2O; where B * = B′—H. Cobalt(III) gives rise to compounds of the composition [Co(B′)3] and [Co(B′H)3] X3 · n H2O. Mixed cyanobiguanide complexes of Co(III) with composition: [Co(B′H)2(CN)2] X · n H2O have also been prepared.
