Notes:
Abstract For the case of the laminar hypersonic boundary layer, which represents a strong nonlinear and extremely stiff initial-boundary value problem, a numerical solution algorithm is developed, which allows to get results for a prescribed accuracy with a minimum of computation effort. The algorithm determines itself step sizes and orders of the approximation in each of the coordinate directions, and controls the true accuracy of the solution.
