Abstract Urinary tract infections (UTI) include a wide range of clinical entities. Starting from this situation, have been differentiated each of the UTI depending on location, age and sex, among other factors. Therefore, UTI have been classified and studied as follows: UTI in women, in men, in elderly people, in catheterized patients and in children. The different pharmacotherapeutic alternatives have been assessed and the classic agents compared with the most recent molecules.
