Description:
By use of cadmium-113 nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, a specific calcium ion binding site has been identified in the bovine two-zinc insulin hexamer. This site is composed of six glutamyl carboxylate groups clustered in the center of the hexamer, and is distinct from the normal zinc ion binding sites.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Notes: 〈/span〉Sudmeier, J L -- Bell, S J -- Storm, M C -- Dunn, M F -- 5S05RR 07010-09/RR/NCRR NIH HHS/ -- New York, N.Y. -- Science. 1981 May 1;212(4494):560-2.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Record origin:〈/span〉 〈a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7010607" target="_blank"〉PubMed〈/a〉
